Merit Dental

Merit Dental occupies a street-facing commercial suite on Katella Avenue in Cypress, in Orange County. Full-height storefront glazing and navy-framed entry doors, marked with the practice's tooth motif, open directly into the waiting lounge.

The design treats a general dental practice like a small boutique hotel: treatment rooms carry gold serif numbers — No. 3, No. 4 — corridors unfold as a sequence of arches, and a flowering tree grows beside the reception desk. Every clinical cue is softened before a patient ever sits in a chair.

Cream millwork with brass pulls, a curved fluted white-oak reception desk, and a marble-look logo wall establish the palette, with pale wide-plank oak floors throughout. Navy-and-gold patterned tile lines the operatory walls, and an arched niche at the refreshment counter holds blossom-branch artwork. Woven pendants and gold-trimmed shelving sconces keep the light warm.

Patients step through the navy glass doors into a lounge of bouclé armchairs set beneath the script logo, then check in at a fluted wood desk shaded by an indoor blossom tree. An arched hallway leads past a built-in refreshment bar to the numbered treatment rooms, where the same cream cabinetry and patterned tile carry the calm straight into the clinical spaces.
