The setting

A second-floor suite on Long Beach Boulevard that houses two things at once: Dr. Sean Mohtashami's 4M Dental Implant Center and the 4M Institute, where dentists come for hands-on implant training. Window walls along one side bring daylight and treetop views into the lounge and classroom.

The concept

One design language for a clinic and a classroom. Warm copper-toned soffits run overhead through every space, tying the patient lounge, operatories, and lecture room together, while glass partitions keep the floor open and connected. The brand speaks directly on the walls: a lettered motto above the sink wall and a copper Hall of Fame panel honoring the institute's community.

Materials & palette

Copper-toned ceiling bands against a black ceiling grid, light wood-look plank floors, and white surfaces throughout. Matte black cabinetry with copper pulls and black stone tops lines the sink wall, under cube pendant lights and dimensional lettering on white tile. The lounge layers a cognac leather sofa, faceted black tables, and a bold black-and-white rug; large abstract art in black, white, and ocean blues carries through the corridors.

The experience

Patients settle into a lounge that feels more like a hotel lobby than a waiting room, then move along bright, glass-lined corridors to operatories finished with recessed cove lighting. Down the hall, rows of white training desks face the front of the classroom, so visiting dentists learn in the same polished environment patients see.
