The setting

A Manhattan Beach suite with tall windows and sliding glass doors that open to a small patio, so natural light reaches the reception, lounge, and corridors. Arched openings lead from the public spaces back to the treatment rooms.

The concept

A dermatology office that feels like a boutique hotel. Classic wall moldings and arched openings set a refined, almost Parisian frame, then bold choices make it memorable: a waterfall reception desk in dramatically veined marble, black steel arched doors, and a black-and-white checkerboard marble corridor.

Materials & palette

White walls with applied panel moldings, warm wood-look plank floors, and a waterfall reception desk in white marble with deep violet veining. Black steel and glass arched doors, checkerboard marble tile, and sculptural black mirrors carry the contrast. The lounge layers a curved black velvet sofa, sage velvet armchairs, and linen drapery; walnut cabinetry with black veined stone tops runs through the treatment rooms.

The experience

Patients arrive to the marble reception desk and a lounge that reads more like a hotel salon than a waiting room, with velvet seating, linen drapes, and an arched niche lined in marble. Down a checkerboard hallway framed by arches, treatment and procedure rooms stay calm and orderly, with gray treatment chairs, walnut casework, and soft daylight.
