What makes orthodontic practice design different
The open bay
Chairs, sightlines, and supply stations are laid out so the orthodontist and assistants move down the bay quickly while every patient still feels seen.
Consults & records
Private consultation and records rooms give new-patient conversations, scans, and treatment-plan reviews the quiet they deserve.
Brushing station
A dedicated brushing station near the bay keeps appointments on schedule and gives the hallway a cheerful, purposeful focal point.
Families welcome
Arrival and waiting areas are planned for parents, siblings, and teens — comfortable, durable, and designed to look great on a patient's camera roll.
Licensing & permitting in California
Practices in California are licensed through the Dental Board of California. California requires a licensed contractor (CSLB) for the build, and tenant-improvement permits are issued by each city or county building department — so the path varies by jurisdiction. We design with the local plan-check and California's accessibility (CBC/ADA) requirements in mind from day one.

- We plan chair count and spacing around your schedule and team, keep sterilization and supply stations a few steps from every chair, and use mural walls, ceiling details, and lighting so a long, open room feels warm rather than clinical. You can see the approach in our Tustin Heights Orthodontics and NoHo Orthodontics Studio projects.
- Plan for two numbers: our interior design fee, and the construction budget you contract with a general contractor — we design; your GC builds. Construction varies with chair count, imaging, finish level, and the base space. Our cost estimator shows directional ranges for both, and we refine them together in feasibility.
- Yes — most orthodontic practices treat all three. We build a palette and arrival experience that feels fun for younger patients and still polished for adults, instead of splitting the office into a separate kids' theme.
- Often, yes. We phase remodels zone by zone or around your schedule so the bay and front desk keep running while the space is refreshed.
